The Local Economy

Alie believes Quincy’s neighborhoods are full of hardworking people and promising businesses and that real progress happens when we come together to get things done. As a business owner himself, he knows that small businesses keep our local economy strong. He will work to reduce red tape, expand access to capital, and offer technical assistance so neighborhood businesses can grow and hire right here in Quincy. He will support partnerships with the Quincy Chamber of Commerce and local lenders so underrepresented entrepreneurs have the tools and support they need to thrive. We all understand that good jobs help to build strong families. With that in mind, Alie will partner with schools, training centers, and employers to help residents gain skills for better jobs from apprenticeships to job placement. Vibrant main streets lift up entire neighborhoods. Alie will encourage local shops and retail spaces that reflect Quincy’s diverse communities and keep our dollars close to home.

Housing

Stable, affordable housing is the backbone of healthy families and thriving neighborhoods. Alie has seen how practical solutions and partnerships can help people find and keep a good home. Working with his colleagues on the City Council, he will support programs for working families to help them buy their first homes, including financial education, mortgage help, and partnerships with state and federal programs. He will push for balanced development and smart zoning to create housing for working families while protecting neighborhood character.

Our community-based organizations do incredible and important work. Alie will help support nonprofits and city agencies that expand access to affordable housing, rental assistance, and services for our low-income neighbors and families at risk of homelessness. Just like good jobs help build strong families, keeping families in their homes keeps neighborhoods vibrant. He will work with City departments to ensure zoning codes encourage sensible, community-focused housing solutions.

Education

A strong public school system gives every child the chance to succeed, and Alie knows it’s possible when we put students, families, and teachers ahead of politics. He will fight for fair and timely employee contracts, funding, and resources so every student, no matter their zip code, has the tools they need to succeed. He will work with city and community partners to expand opportunities in civics, arts, sports, and enterprise to help kids connect learning with the real world.

He will build on existing relationships with trade unions and grow partnerships with local businesses and colleges to open doors to internships, apprenticeships, and good jobs after graduation. Alie knows he can’t do this alone. That’s why he will strive to bring parents, students, teachers, and leaders together to make sure Quincy’s schools deliver, and to hold the system accountable when they don’t.

Public Safety

Safe, welcoming neighborhoods are non-negotiable. Alie’s practical approach balances prevention, accountability, and trust. Quincy is a much safer city than it was 20 years ago. Public safety starts with tackling the roots of crime. He will encourage programs that reduce poverty, expand access to mental health and substance use treatment, and give young people positive pathways. He supports a balanced approach: giving first responders the training and resources they need while expanding community programs that prevent crime in the first place. Because building trust between residents and law enforcement makes everyone safer, he will push for fair, transparent policing and strong community engagement.

Transportation

A modern, reliable MBTA keeps Quincy moving and supports good jobs and a growing economy. Alie will work with Mayor Koch and other government officials to make sure investments continue to reach our neighborhoods and that they make sense for Quincy families. At a time when federal dollars are harder to access, he will fight alongside his colleagues in government for Quincy’s fair share of resources to maintain and improve our roads, bridges, sidewalks, and transit. Good planning connects housing, jobs, and transportation. He will work with partners at all levels to reduce congestion, shorten commutes, and support growth that works for Quincy. He will champion affordable, practical steps to improve public transit and sustainable options like cleaner buses.

Supporting Older Adults

Quincy’s older adults deserve respect, dignity, and the support to live full, independent lives. Alie will push to expand affordable, accessible housing options so seniors can stay close to family and community. He’ll fight for programs and services that help seniors live well at home for as long as possible. He will advocate for investments in senior centers, transportation, and social programs that keep older adults active, connected, and safe, especially during emergencies.

Working within existing zoning parameters, Alie supports owner-occupied accessory dwelling units as an additional option to help older adults age in place and earn tax relief at the same time.

The Way Forward

Alie knows politics can be divisive, but our neighborhoods can’t afford endless gridlock. He’s committed to staying away from toxic partisanship and working with our partners in city, state, and federal government to deliver real, practical wins for Quincy residents. And when things head in the wrong direction, he won’t be afraid to stand up, speak out, and fight for what’s right — because that’s what Quincy families deserve.
